Over the rainbow for Glastonbury Festival

We’re proud to have played our part in adding a colourful new fixture to Glastonbury’s The Park field this year, in the form of a large sitting rainbow sculpture.

Glastonbury-Rainbow

Our Sadolin Outdoor Varnish Satin paint was used alongside Crown Trade’s Matt Vinyl to complete the rainbow, which took just under three weeks to complete by UK contemporary artist Paul Insect and a team of carpenters and engineers who worked to bring Paul’s vision to life.

The sculpture was organised for Glastonbury Festival by art curators Creative Giants and designed by Paul Insect, and stands at over six metres tall, providing a fun new fixture for the weekend, which complemented the famous Glastonbury sign.

Artists often rely on donations, which is where we stepped in by offering one of our products for Paul Insect’s sculpture.

As part of the Crown Paints family, we’re always looking for ways to contribute to art and community projects through donating our paint, so we were delighted to supply some of the paint needed for the Glastonbury Rainbow. It’s exciting to see our products bring an artist’s vision to life, especially on a platform as famous as one of the UK’s biggest festivals, and we’re pleased that the finished result was a success.
