Be colour sure with Sadolin

We are taking the guesswork out of selecting the perfect shade for wood with the launch of our new colour testing sample pots – now available to buy from the majority of stockists.

The 250ml sized sample pots will aid the choice of colour across six of our best-selling translucent and opaque products and are the ideal way for professional decorators and homeowners alike to try one or more colours before making a purchase.

Customers will be able to purchase a sample pot of Sadolin Classic to test any of the 40 plus translucent tintable colours available in the Sadolin Classic, Sadolin Extra, Sadolin Quick Dry and Sadolin One Coat woodstains. Where an opaque finish is preferred, the Sadolin Superdec sample pot will help customers determine which shade to select from more than 280 opaque tintable colours which are available in both Sadolin Superdec and Sadolin Beautiflex.

Choosing colour for exterior wood projects can be a challenge as the natural colour and finish of the wood will affect the colour of translucent woodstains once dry. Applying the same shade of woodstain to two different types of wood can result in a vastly different finish. The most reliable way to determine which colour to use is to try a small sample area first to see how it interacts with the natural colour and grain of the wood substrate.

We’d advise treating a sample in the exactly the same way as a full project; so follow the instructions and apply the recommended number of coats to achieve an accurate finish on the surface being painted or stained. But don’t forget to make sure it’s on an indiscreet area, just in case you change your mind.
