Doors

If using a woodstain, wash down the timber being treated.

Strip the wood completely by sanding, before removing surface resin with methylated spirits or cellulose thinners. If the doors are already stained, sand to remove flaky coating and 'touch-in' any bare timber to avoid patchy colour later.

Apply the stain with a good quality brush and steady hand following the direction of the grain in a full flowing manner, making sure to follow the coverage rates on the tin.

If using a two coat product, allow the first coat to dry for the appropriate time before lightly re-sanding the surface and applying the second coat.
